I registered my first domain name in January 2000 and was instantly hooked. Since then I have hand-registered and purchased well over a thousand domains, some of which I sold and some I dropped when they came up for renewal based on what I had learned about domaining over time. The industry has changed a heck of a lot since 2000, most notably the amount of competition for good names.

I have always purchased domains for the long-term investment value of the name. When domain parking came along, I was all over it. How exciting it was to see my domains actually making some money while they patiently waited for the right end user. (At one point my monthly parking revenue was tipping $6,000.) Pay-per-click (PPC) income isn't so great these days, so development is my goal for 2010 and beyond.
